SUEK helps improve the level of medical care for residents in coal mining regions – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The organizers have compiled a list of seminar topics based on surveys and statistics on residents’ most pressing health issues. If in the previous two years of the program the emphasis was placed on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences, this year the conferences are dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients in “traditional” areas, such as diseases cardiovascular, urology, neurology, endocrinology (including obesity in children, adolescents and adults, diabetes), as well as psychiatry and psychotherapy. Doctors from the regions not only learned about the latest medical practices and the most advanced treatment methods, but were also able to get answers to questions that are relevant to each territory.

– Seminars for doctors were held in a convenient video conference format (VKS), – says Yulia Nikolaeva, deputy medical director of the “Shakhtar” Mining Unit of JSC “SUEK-Kuzbass”. – The most valuable thing is that the material was prepared by practicing doctors, leading receptionists who work directly with patients. Topics were covered concisely and clearly, with emphasis on the effectiveness of the methods used. It is very important to know, to see the experience of the capital’s doctors of various specialties. Online events for doctors from mining regions are carried out by the SUEK-REGIONAM Foundation with the support of ANO New Development Technologies since 2017. Its objective is to promote an increase in the level of medical services for the population of the territories by introducing of modern medical methods in the practice of medical institutions, including medical units of SUEK companies. This is just one of the many programs implemented by SUEK and the SUEK-TO-REGIONS Foundation to improve the quality of healthcare in the regions.

Since 2009, more than 1,500 children from families of SUEK employees and social institutions in Siberia and the Far East have undergone highly qualified diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation at the Polyany medical center near Moscow, the gates of the Herzen sanatorium in the capital they are open to miners and industry veterans. A separate program aims at the effective rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy in association with the Dream Ski project and the Gift to an Angel charitable foundation. In addition, during the pandemic, the SUEK-REGIONS Foundation, with the support of the best rehabilitators, physiotherapists and sports doctors in the country, launched an online training program for children from mining regions, which includes basic physiotherapy exercises and breathing exercises. .
