Among the young inventors who visited the Black Sea coast was a schoolgirl from the mining town of Novoshakhtinsky Elizaveta Yakovleva. She was the only one representing Primorsky Krai. A 9th grade student’s project “Clothing Design: Painting on Fabric” took third place.
The jury evaluated the works according to criteria such as scientific and technical novelty, economic efficiency, practical and commercial feasibility, and the possibility of the product entering the market. Elizaveta tested six stages of the technology for painting T-shirts by hand with paints, calculated the payback period and profit, as well as the expected effects of the introduction into production.
The contest, organized by the SUEK FOR THE REGIONS Foundation, was held among students in grades 8-10. It was carried out as part of the project “School Enterprises: Looking to the Future, Improving the Present” of the social development program of the territories where the coal mine operates. Its objective is to increase SUEK’s human resources, support and develop youth initiatives in the field of entrepreneurship and information technology.
The inventions of adolescents are varied. Among them are equipment for intellectual games “Brain Ring System”, a convenient device for classrooms “School Board Cleaner”, an efficient garbage collector “Cyclone for Vacuum Cleaner”, a mobile device “Robot Disinfector”, a gas analyzer harmful “CO2 – if there is an exit?”, analyzer-reader of human biorhythms “Alarm clock-sunrise “Sun”, aid device for people with visual disabilities Helping hand, advanced models “Skateboard” and others.
During the week-long incentive trip to Sochi, the children were informed about the basics of social entrepreneurship, the mechanisms for designing and implementing business initiatives. Leading Russian business trainers conducted seminars, business games and trainings for schoolchildren. Emphasis was placed on the development and promotion of the invention at the production level, resource and risk management, publicity, project presentation and communication skills.
After the educational sessions, the winners and laureates of the “My First Business” contest received diplomas and valuable prizes – modern gadgets. During the awards ceremony, they presented their projects again and exchanged opinions about them.
But the trip to Sochi was not only educational, but also informative. The guys visited the dolphinarium, the arboretum, the Olympic facilities, historical monuments. In a word, we were very excited, because many visited the city for the first time. They took with them vivid impressions, interesting acquaintances, as well as the desire to develop and improve their investigative skills.
