Sulambek Mamilov was born on August 27, 1938. In 1957-1959 he studied at the history department of the Grozny Pedagogical Institute, graduated from the acting department of LGITMiK in 1962, in 1970 – VKSR, where he studied at the Khutsiev workshops , Alov and Naumov. Before entering the directing course, he was an actor at the Grozny Drama Theater named after Nuradilov.
