Speaking at a news conference in Stockholm, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Defense Minister Pal Johnson said the Scandinavian nation would send “about” 10 Leopard 2A5 tanks, as well as IRIS-T and HAWK missile systems, to Ukraine.
The Swedish government said in a statement that the Swedish tanks add to the Leopard 2 contribution being made by other European countries.
Recall that on Friday, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that his country had delivered its first Leopard tanks to Ukraine. In addition, on Thursday, the Finnish Defense Ministry announced that Finland would send three Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine.
