“The Federal Council on March 3, 2023 temporarily eased the sanctions against Syria,” the government said in a statement. According to Swiss leaders, this is necessary to guarantee the work of humanitarian organizations that provide assistance to the victims of the February earthquake.
Under Swiss law, the provision of goods or economic resources to sanctioned persons is prohibited.
