Sarah Polley, winner of the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Women Speaking, is in talks to shoot a new film based on the book Bambi by Felix Salten. Deadline writes about this, citing various inside sources.
It will be a musical, whose soundtrack will be written and performed by four-time Grammy-winning American country singer Casey Musgraves. Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster have already written a draft of the script. They have already worked as a duo on the tapes “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” and “Beautiful day in the neighborhood.”
The project is in a very early stage of development. Produced by Disney Film Studio. As Deadline notes, Disney first announced plans to film a new Bambi adaptation in early 2020. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsey Beer were then said to become the scriptwriters.
Earlier, new footage from the movie “On Fire” with Amber Heard appeared. This is the actress’s first tape after the trial with Johnny Depp. We talk about it in more detail here.
