Telefónica is close to finalizing the negotiations to update salaries, due to the impact of inflation. The telco has reached an agreement with the UGT unions and the Workers’ Commissions for a wage increase of up to 7.5% from which the workers of the so-called Global Business Units of the Group (GBU) will benefit. In other words, those that are not covered by the Telefónica España agreement and affect employees of subsidiaries such as the corporate area of Telefónica, Telxius, Fonditel, Telefónica Seguros and Telefónica Finanzas, among others.
Specifically, according to a statement from Comisiones Obreras, the agreed increase will be distributed in a tranche of 4% plus an additional 0.5% of a discretionary nature to retain talent in 2023, as well as a 2.5% increase, plus the In addition, if inflation exceeds 7.5% in the next two years, the application of a 1% linear correction factor that can be consolidated is expected to be paid in 2025.
