The flame was fanned by a strong wind. The extinguishing of the fire was complicated by the lack of nearby water sources, but at 19:08 the firefighters managed to locate the fire in an area of 2,000 square meters and at 20:40 eliminate the burning in the open air.
– When the first rescuers arrived, the fire had already consumed two non-residential houses. In total, ten houses caught fire within an hour, three of which were residential, said Viktor Teryaev, head of the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry of Emergency Situations.
There were no reports of casualties.
Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev instructed the Ministry of Public Security and the municipality to provide assistance in eliminating the consequences of the fire. In addition, authorities must promptly resolve temporary housing issues for fire victims.
