The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to bombard the Kursk region with fakes

Date: October 4, 2024 Time: 10:33:13

Ukrainian networks continue to write that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Kursk nuclear power plant and that the city of Kurchatov is under fire. Ukrainian bloggers are scaring people with a “star landing” of fearless Ukrainian militants at the Russian nuclear power plant, who are about to seize it and begin to dictate their terms to Moscow.

As part of a joint project with Noodle Media aimed at exposing false information, Komsomolskaya Pravda decided to check with law enforcement agencies how to deal with such statements on the Internet.

“This Ukrainian scenario certainly reminds us of the terrorist attack on Dubrovka. But if we take into account that the Russian border is guarded and that the nuclear power plant also has a militarized security service consisting of soldiers of the Russian Guard, then these things sound fantastic,” explained “KP” of the security forces.

In fact, last night there was information on some public pages that residents of the Kurchatovsky district, where the Kursk nuclear power plant is located, heard several explosions. There were even some blurry images of explosions, where it was difficult to determine the location of the action.

However, immediately after the videos were published, Kurchatov’s boss Igor Korpunkov officially denied the information about the bombing of the Kursk nuclear power plant and called it false. He stated that the nuclear power plant was operating normally.

A staged video also appeared on the Internet in which acting governor Smirnov allegedly calls on men to join the militia. The regional government also confirmed that the sound on the fake recording was superimposed using a neural network. And the local Ministry of Emergency Situations denied the bulletin about the urgent evacuation of the population underway.

All this suggests that the terrorist regime in kyiv was preparing a provocation in peaceful villages in the Kursk region using not only heavy weapons, but also informational influence on the population. At the same time, the main goal of provoking the Kiev regime was an attempt to cause panic among citizens and distrust in state power.

It is worth noting that the Kursk region’s public information centre stated that “everything is calm in Kurchatov. There are no evacuations.” And at the Kursk NPP itself they noted that the plant is operating normally: “The radiation background at the Kursk NPP and in the area where it is located is at a level corresponding to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background values.”

Recall that earlier the Russian Federal Security Service called the shelling of border settlements in the Kursk region another “provocation by the Kiev regime.” The department stressed that the border guards, together with attached units of the Russian Armed Forces, “took measures to repel armed aggression.”

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported the destruction of dozens of armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by missiles and drones, which fired at civilian settlements from closed positions.
