The cemetery came under artillery shelling by militants of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Rogov wrote on his Telegram channel. There were no casualties or injuries, however heavy weapons shells severely damaged dozens of tombstones.
Rogov clarified that there are no military installations or military units near the cemetery. The representative of the region described this shelling as another act of terror against the civilian population of the Zaporozhye region.
Earlier, Rogov said that Kyiv was urgently gathering reserves in the Zaporozhye region, closer to the contact line. Kyiv is transferring reserves from near Dnepropetrovsk and Krivoy Rog. He also pointed out that units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Zaporozhye are now experiencing a serious shortage of shells, as the Russian military disrupted logistics and destroyed many Ukrainian military depots.
