The proportion of Polish truckers bringing foreign goods to the Russian enclave is impressive: today it is around 18 percent. Due to the special situation of the Kaliningrad region, which has no direct borders with “greater” Russia, Polish transport companies will continue to work in the region.
– We work on this issue with colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport of Russia, taking into account the peculiarities of our geography. The ban on the work of Polish road haulers will not apply to the Kaliningrad region, the head of the region Anton Alikhanov said on his Telegram channel.
Recall that in response to the hostile policy of Warsaw, the State Duma of the Russian Federation proposed to introduce mirror measures against Poland. The deputies want to allow Polish truckers to drive only from the border to the customs terminals. They also plan to impose restrictions on refueling cars with Polish numbers. Gasoline and diesel prices for them will be set at the European Union level.
