The Cabinet of Ministers exempted music teachers from paying personal income tax for the achievement awards KXan 36 Daily News

For teachers of children’s music schools, 100 prizes of 500 thousand rubles each are awarded annually. For those who teach at music colleges and universities – 50 prizes of 1 million rubles each.

Prizes are awarded for high results of professional activity by decision of a special commission under the Ministry of Culture. They can be taught by professors who have worked in the specialty for at least 3 years.

Also, the Cabinet of Ministers amended the list of international, foreign and Russian awards that are exempt from tax. These are prizes in the fields of science and technology, education, culture, literature, art, tourism and the media.

Let’s remember that in Russia there is a fixed rate of personal income tax, which is 13%. The exception is income above 5 million rubles a year, for them there is an increased rate of 15%, funds from the payment of the increased tax are used to treat children with rare diseases.
