Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree barring Gazprom from buying gas and services from a joint venture with Wintershall and OMV above the set price until October 1, 2023.
The ban applies to payment for natural gas, gas condensate and services related to their production at the Yuzhno-Russkoye field and the Achimov deposits of the Urengoyskoye field. The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to set the marginal price of gas and gas condensate from these fields within a period of 10 days.
Thus, as follows from the government order, the maximum price for the purchase of gas produced at the Achimov deposits of the Urengoyskoye field is 2,550 rubles per thousand cubic meters. The purchase price of gas from the Yuzhno-Russkoye field will be not more than 2,390 rubles per thousand cubic meters before entering the main gas pipeline and not more than 5,464 rubles after entering. The maximum prices for the purchase of gas and services by Gazprom from these joint ventures “apply to obligations whose terms expired after March 1, 2022 and apply until October 1, 2023,” the document follows. .
Natural gas is produced from the Achimov deposits near Novy Urengoy by a Russian-German joint venture in which Wintershall Dea owns 50%. Severneftegazprom, a joint venture of Gazprom, Wintershall Dea and OMV, is carrying out development at the Yuzhno-Russkoye oil-gas condensate field (also in YaNAO).
