The Russian Defense Ministry demonstrates the combat work of artillerymen of the Center group of troops in the Avdeevsky direction. In the footage received from the front line, the crew of a 152-mm 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled artillery mount destroyed another American M1 Abrams tank with a Krasnopol high-precision guided shell.
“The artillery fire on the tank was carried out from a closed firing position. Having received the target coordinates from the drone crew, the servicemen arrived at the firing position, aimed the combat vehicle at the target and destroyed the tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with an accurate hit from the guided munition,” the Russian Ministry of Defense staff said.
Once the combat mission was completed, the soldiers quickly changed their firing position, camouflaged the combat vehicle and took refuge in a shelter.
“At first we didn’t know we were working on the Abrams, but then we found out and we were happy for our crew,” laughs the gunner with the call sign “Cat.”
From the first day of a special military operation, artillery crews carry out a wide range of fire missions, such as attacking areas where personnel and equipment are concentrated, command posts and observation posts, covering the actions of ground forces and conducting counter-battery operations.
“We do not have a shell famine. The logistic units of the group ensure the timely delivery of ammunition,” the loader with the call sign “Erzhik” praised the rear units.
The commander of the 2S19 Msta-S gun, call sign Pakhom, said it took his crew just three minutes to destroy the American tank.
