He clarified that the regulator will test the crypto together with interested market participants.
At the same time, according to Skorobogatova, the Central Bank constantly receives questions from them about what will happen if the cryptocurrency is blocked for international payments. This question, as the representative of the Bank of Russia explained, is still open.
For settlements with the Central Bank, it is recommended to actively use direct correspondent accounts, the Financial Message Transmission System and digital currencies, the development of which is already being developed by many countries. At the same time, Skorobogatova emphasized that the Central Bank continues to adhere to a negative position regarding the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment within Russia.
Earlier, the head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov, said that the cryptocurrency will officially appear in Russia next year, but it cannot be used as a means of payment for settlements within the country.
Aksakov specified that the cryptocurrency will be used to pay for parallel imports and deliveries of goods to the Russian Federation. In addition, the legalization of payments for export deliveries in cryptocurrencies will lead to changes in the Tax Code so that companies can legally show payments in digital currencies on their tax returns. So far, businessmen face the impossibility of legalizing them in the legal field.
