The process of requesting and adjudicating Imserso trips for this 2023 already began at the end of last year and, for the moment, almost all the places have an owner. Although the operation of this procedure remains the same and these trips are granted to those pensioners, who can enjoy them with a companion, despite the fact that they are not yet retired; This year the Imserso trips present certain novelties.
Imserso trips will continue to include full-board accommodation and concerted activities during free time, that does not change for this year. The changes will affect other aspects of the trips, such as the duration or the number of places available.
Places for Imserso trips in 2023
In this 2023, the places to travel with this program between October 2022 and June 2023 will be 813,000 places. The total cut has been 3,000 jobs and the Government has justified it by alleging a drop in the demand for this social service for pensioners. In fact, it is expected that this shift will only cover 90% of the places, some 734,000.
Where the places are going to increase, in a total of 28,442, is for internal tourism trips. Similarly, the holes for thermal tourism will remain untouched and the places, some 192,000, will remain in the 2023-2024 season. Even so, only 127,750 are expected to fill.
Duration of the stays of the Imserso 2023 trips
The duration of the Imserso trips this year will vary. The novelties, in this sense, are two. The first, beneficial for users who sign up for these trips this year, will be that the stays planned for stays of seven and a half days will be extended to eight, covering the last overnight stay in a hotel. The second is that this year there will be no two-week trips.
This year’s Imserso budget has grown by 14% compared to last year’s funds, reaching a total of 6,672 million euros, which allows, together with the elimination of two-week trips; that the stays be extended that half day more. After receiving the relevant reservations, about 6.5 million stays are expected.
