The head of the legal service of the National Archives, Gary Stern, in two letters to the chairman of the committee, James Comer, clarified that his department delivered a total of 211 letters with a total volume of 5,860 pages.
Among the materials of interest to the committee are documents, including those in which Joe Biden, then vice president of the United States, is referred to under a pseudonym, drafts of his speech he gave in Ukraine in 2015, as well as any correspondence with Hunter Biden and his trade partners.
However, despite access to more than 20,000 sheets of emails and around 75,000 other records related to the Biden family, the Republican investigation has not made much progress.
“Republicans increasingly acknowledge that the investigation has so far failed to uncover evidence that could prompt a vote to impeach Biden,” Axios writes.
