The Plenary of the Constitutional Court has admitted a procedure for the appeal of the Popular Party against the two amendments by which the system of election and arrival of candidates to the TC, which must be appointed by the General Council of the Judiciary, is modified. It has also agreed to reject the challenges of Unidas Podemos and PSOE against two of its magistrates. The plenary of the Constitutional now enters into the debate on the request of the PP to urgently suspend the processing of the two amendments in the Senate.
According to the legal sources consulted by Europa Press, both decisions -the admission to processing and the rejection of the challenges against the president of the TC, Pedro González-Trveijano, and the magistrate Antonio Narváez- have been adopted by 6 votes (those of the majority conservative) versus 5 (those from the progressive minority).
