The Crocus Town Hall, where the terrible terrorist attack will take place on Friday, March 22, is located near the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road and the Volokolamsk Highway. This is part of the Crocus City business center complex, which belongs to the Crocus group of the Agalarov family (Araz and his son, better known as the singer Emin). The complex also includes the Crocus Expo exhibition center, the Crocus City Mall and the Myakinino metro station, built with money from the Crocus Group.
In October 2024, Crocus Hall would have celebrated its 15th anniversary. The multi-level concert hall was opened on October 25, 2009 and was named after the singer Muslim Magomayev (the founder of the Crocus group, Araz Agalarov, is of Baku origin, like Muslim Magomayev). Investments in the project amounted to about 70 million dollars.

The height of the building is more than 15 meters, the total area is more than 38 thousand square meters. The usual capacity of Crocus Town Hall is 6,200 people, but when the stalls are transformed into a dance floor, it has capacity for 9,500 people. In Moscow, only stadiums (Luzhniki, Lukoil Arena, Olympic) or open-air concert halls (Green Theater in Gorky Park) have large capacity. For comparison, the State Kremlin Palace is designed for 6,000 spectators.

There was a time when the idea of placing a huge concert complex somewhere on the Moscow Ring Road caused bewilderment in business circles: who would go there to have fun? But the owners of Crocus were not wrong: the room quickly became popular. Even thanks to the ample parking, which is easily accessible from the Moscow Ring Road and the nearby metro station. Scorpions, Nazareth, Elton John, Vanessa May, etc. performed in the room; The list of famous names of groups and performers is quite long.

Now, according to preliminary estimates by experts, the amount of damage to Crocus City Hall could amount to 9.5 to 11.4 billion rubles (more than 100 million dollars). Sources from the insurance sector speak of 10 billion rubles. Crocus was insured. It is not yet clear how damaged the structure and the main load-bearing elements of the building are; The viability and timing of its restoration will depend on this.
