The creative evening crowns the anniversary season, during which the audience saw the most successful works of the ballerina: the winner of the Golden Mask national theater award, international competitions and the Soul of Dance award.
After graduating from the Novosibirsk State Choreographic School in 1997 and joining the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater the same year, Anna Zharova performed leading roles in classical and contemporary ballets. Art lovers have been going to the theater “on Zharova” for a long time. And the artist, according to her, always feels responsible to the public.
– Ballet dancers do not have the opportunity to pronounce themselves, to tell something. You can only communicate with body language. I hope to be able to convey the most complex human emotions, touch people’s deepest points, make them think, feel, care. Our profession is very binding, necessary, important. We all lack real emotions, directness in life. I want to be honest with my audience, they always feel fake. The artist on stage is like under a microscope. Just the way he is. With his problems, fears, emotions, experiences,-says Anna Zharova.
According to the artistic director of NOVAT, Dmitry Yurovsky, the creative anniversary of the main soloist is an important event not only for her, but also a huge holiday for the entire theater. “On March 7, fans of the star will have the opportunity to see the new work of Anna Zharova and a rich festive program with the participation of stars,” said the artistic director.
The benefit program included the one-act ballet “Carmen Suite,” created in 1967 by Cuban choreographer Alberto Alonso with music by Rodion Shchedrin, who wrote a transcription for orchestra of Georges Bizet’s famous opera. The evening program also includes an entertainment with the participation of NOVAT stars and friends of Anna Zharova, soloists of leading Russian theaters, such as the Bolshoi Theater, the Musical Theater named after KS Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko and, of course, NOVAT. Viewers can expect fragments of classical and modern ballet productions, such as “La Sylphide”, “Phantom Ball”, “Radio and Juliet”, “Anyuta”.
P.S.
And one more surprise from the main heroine of the evening: Anna Zharova will perform for the first time the farewell number, known to ballet lovers, in a duet with the creator of this choreographic miniature, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Yuri Smekalov.
