Bags and accessories resale platform Sharing service Cultt and Cloudset decided to join forces and announced the launch of a collaboration. The collaboration was called Resale x Rent.
Part of The Cultt’s range of bags will now be available for a test drive with Cloudset’s rental service. Special items will be marked on thecultt.com. In addition, the sharing assortment can be viewed in the catalog or in a special section on thecloudset.com website.
In addition, the initiative has been expanded to create a joint “Consumer Subculture” podcast on the future of the fashion market. The show was hosted by Cloudset platform founder Amina Musaeva and The Cultt co-founder Maria Manaeva.
“We have repeatedly emphasized that the task of our projects is to maximize the life cycle of things. Rental and resale complement each other perfectly in this regard and encourage collective ownership. And their combination gives a person maximum flexibility in buying and using things,” says Amina Musayeva.
The motivation for the podcast, according to the founders, was to understand the tipping point of the fashion market and to what extent traditional business models and buyer-seller relationships will be revised. For the first time since 2021, online luxury sales have surpassed offline sales, but today those lines are blurring to create never-before-seen hybrid models. Previously, The Cultt released a #tracesoflife video project, which focuses on the perception of scars and flaws in society. The videos were directed by Vera Romanova, who lives in London and teaches at Central Saint Martins. She has collaborated with LVMH, Vogue UK, Dazed and Stella McСartney.
