– We continue working as usual. The purpose of the meeting is to once again explain to the workers the schedule and working conditions for the coming months,-she told RG Olga Kuklina, deputy director of the plant.
Recall that in the spring the Swedish company IKEA, which owns an industrial site in the south of the Kirov region and three more plants in the north-west of Russia, announced the cessation of activities in Russia. At that time, more than 700 employees worked at the Krasnopolyansk plant. In October, as a result of the cuts, the workforce had been reduced to 385 people. Some of those who quit work found work in the enterprises of the neighboring city of Vyatskiye Polyany.
– According to my information, now the company has been working for a week, it has been standing still for a week. Salaries are paid regularly, if I’m not mistaken, in the amount of 80 percent. I know that when firing employees, they did not take into account one of the clauses of the contract related to the provision of pensions. In this regard, a petition was sent to the owner, – said the head of the Kirov regional organization of the trade union of forestry workers Alexander Gorel.
The union leader also clarified that there is some concern about the uncertainty with the sale of IKEA’s Russian factories to national owners.
– IKEA is selling the four factories as a package. Even because they are technologically connected. I hope that everything will be decided before March, the governor of the Kirov region Alexander Sokolov said last week.
Olga Kuklina clarified that the decision on the buyer of the production assets has not yet been made, although the negotiations are in the final stage.
Among potential buyers of Russian IKEA factories, the Segezha Group company, the majority stake of which belongs to AFK Sistema, was repeatedly mentioned. Governor Alexander Sokolov, without naming a possible beneficiary, confirmed the presence of interest and expressed the hope of expanding cooperation, as well as that the plant in Krasnaya Polyana would maintain its “registration” in the region. .
