A meeting called “Dialogue with a Hero” was held at the Moscow State University of Technology and Management. A war veteran and holder of the Order of Courage, Gabriel Doroshin, spoke to the students. He was born in France and his grandmother was a granddaughter of the Russian Emperor Nicholas I.
Students from the Faculty of Economics and Law, as well as from the Cossack Bachelor’s programme, came to listen to the hero. MSUTU is the only university that trains Cossacks. That is, Cossack chieftains, history teachers and media technologists. Training includes shooting at a shooting range and master classes in sabre cutting.
The Cossacks have always been the backbone of the state, and Gavriil Doroshin is not only a descendant of the Tsar, he is also a volunteer, a member of the Northern Military District. (“KP” wrote about him)
According to him, he made the decision to fight for the independence of Donbass before he came of age. And at the age of 18 he left France.
“I realized that it is too easy to be abroad and proudly call yourself Russian, without joining in the common misfortune and common suffering that people in Donbass were going through at that time. It would be wrong. I felt that my destiny was there,” he told the students.
For two years, Gavriil Doroshin fought as part of the Donetsk militia and another two years in the Northern Military District. He served in reconnaissance, was a machine gunner, and then commanded a unit of unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the meeting with students, the terrorist character of the current Ukrainian state and Western intelligence services was discussed. Doroshin said that “only the loss of faith and value norms can motivate a person to take the side of terrorism. Such a person does not know where evil is and where good is. And our enemies abroad take advantage of this. The intelligence services recruit young people who are ready to kill dozens of people for a small amount of money. That is what a terrorist is in the first place. This is a person who has no love. For my brother, for the people.”
Therefore, in order to combat terrorism, it is not enough to catch and punish the perpetrators of terrorist attacks (although in this case the utmost severity must be exercised). It is important to strengthen the people’s faith and love for their homeland. Otherwise, they will become suitable soil for the poisoned seeds spread by the Western Internet sowers.
