But “only fructose”, which disrupts the metabolism in the liver cell and eventually causes fatty inflammation of the organ, is enough in the “sugar-free” product.
“The situation with the liver worsens, almost on a par with alcohol,” said the gastroenterologist.
In addition, the gas from soft drinks itself negatively affects the body. Disrupts the work of the stomach, causes belching, heartburn. All this can lead to erosion, ulcers and even cancer of the esophagus.
“Moreover, the main harm is precisely gas,” warned Sergey Vyalov, comparing the dangers of sugar in a drink and gases.
Earlier, toxicologist Mikhail Kutushov said that frequent consumption of sweet (fresh) juice increases the risk of developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by five times.
“By eating a small amount of fresh fruit, there is no danger to the liver, the fiber helps slow down the absorption of fructose,” said the specialist.
But fructose, which is found in juices, is especially dangerous for the liver. At the same time, there is almost no valuable fiber in such products, the doctor concluded.
