The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has closed the Electric and Connected Vehicle Perte (VEC) II in its two lines, batteries and industrial value, with 186 applications and the granting of aid to projects for 8.5 billion euros, The ministry reported this Tuesday.
The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, advances in a note that his department is already working on a third line of the Perte VEC that will exceed 1.2 billion. Regarding the Perte VEC II closed last Friday, the head of Industry has been “optimistic and with the desire to cover the greatest possible number of projects that have been presented.”
Gómez assures that the data “demonstrates the success” of the second call for Perte and emphasizes that the automotive and component companies trust in Spain.
For line A, which encourages investment in industrial production capacity of batteries for electric vehicles, the Ministry of Industry has received 48 applications, with projects that mobilize a total budget of 5,829 million from 34 different companies.
In this chapter, 909 million have been requested in the form of a subsidy and 166 million in the form of loans.
So far, the Government has distributed 322 million of the battery line, distributed between Ford (NYSE:F) (37.6 million), Basquevolt (14.7), Gestamp (BME:GEST) (12.6 million in two ) projects), Renault (EPA:RENA) (3.4 million in two projects), Global Laser Araba (4), Beeclycle Reuse & Recycling (1.6), Envision (300) and Seat (47.7).
The awards to China Envision and the manufacturer Seat are, according to the latest resolution of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the two projects that have received a greater volume of public aid than the ten that had been authorized.
Regarding line B of support for investment plans aimed at the industrial value chain of the electric and connected vehicle, its systems, subsystems and components, and certain auxiliary infrastructure systems necessary for its deployment, 138 investment plans have been received . to carry out 251 individual projects.
The industry points out that these projects mobilize 2,765 million in budget, requesting almost 892 million in the form of a subsidy and 319 million in the form of a loan.
The same source reports that the evaluation of the projects received is currently being carried out and that in the coming weeks it hopes to resolve the programs and communicate the financing to the applicants.
