According to UOL, there are at least four cases of threats, psychological pressure and violence, about which there were appeals to law enforcement. Rafaela Carvalho said Welliton hit her repeatedly.
“It lasted for six long years. He often attacked me when we were out of Brazil. In the UAE there was no justice for women. He attacked me, then hid my passport, money, phone. He managed to escape with friends from Brazil,” she said.
Rafaela Carvalho added that until now the ex-husband is persecuting her. The woman said that the soccer player’s acquaintances sent her threatening messages. The footballer’s ex-wife added that Welliton suffers from alcohol addiction.
Welliton played for Spartak from 2007 to 2014. He twice became the top scorer in the Russian championship, in total he scored 61 goals in 133 games for the club.
