On June 8, the drama “Knots”, directed by Oleg Khamokov, a graduate of the Kabardino-Balkarian Alexander Sokurov workshop, will be released in theaters throughout Russia. The main roles in the film about two lovers were played by the actress of the Gogol Center Svetlana Mamresheva and the Honored Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria Robert Saralp. The world premiere of the film took place at the end of December 2022 in China at the Hainan Film Festival, the Russian premiere at the Spirit of Fire Film Festival in Khanty-Mansiysk in March 2023.
The film is being distributed by Pioneer Film Company. The tape tells the relationship between an adult trucker, Byrd, and 17-year-old Dina. They get married and together they build the biggest house in town, which should be the main achievement of Bird’s life. But the heroes do not notice how the house is gradually destroying their relationship.

The plot of the film is based on an ancient Caucasian legend about the Adiyuh tower, which is located in Karachay-Cherkessia. According to legend, the young Adiyuh was kidnapped and locked in an impregnable tower by Prince Psabida.
