Recently, the first series of the video game show The Last of Us was released. Russian director Kantemir Balagov was supposed to remove it entirely. However, due to creative differences, he left the project and was replaced by Craig Mazin.
On social media, Balagov was asked if the first episode contained scenes he filmed. The director responded with an emoji in the form of a car and a plane. Apparently, these are images of a car escape from the city and a plane crash.
Kantemir Balagov then added that 40% of the material (about 16 minutes) in the first 40 minutes of the series is his work. The first episode was shot by cameraman Ksenia Sereda, who took part in the project together with Balagov.
