HBO Max has released a promotional video with footage of upcoming shows. It featured an excerpt from the fourth season of True Detective. The main role will be played by American actress Jodie Foster, best known for the film The Silence of the Lambs. The premiere will take place in 2023.
The fourth season was subtitled “Nightland”. According to the synopsis, it will begin with the disappearance of eight people who work at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. The investigation will be led by the heroine Foster, who will play a tough law enforcement officer. Video of her showed her investigating a crime scene in Alaska. No other plot details have been revealed.
NME recalls that True Detective began publication in 2014. Later, the cast included Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
Earlier, a trailer for the upcoming series The Last of Us, based on the computer game of the same name, appeared on the HBO Max YouTube channel. The show premieres on HBO and HBO Max on January 15, 2023.
