During the protests, demonstrators in the Armenian capital surrounded a complex of government buildings. Security forces surrounded the government building. Protesters demand the resignation of the government and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, blaming him for the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. Recall that the aggravation of the situation was facilitated by Pashinyan’s statements about his recognition of Karabakh as the territory of Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, the head of the Mother Armenia bloc, Andranik Tevanyan, announced the start of a 24-hour protest in tents set up on Republic Square. This action will begin, he said, with the aim of achieving Pashinyan’s resignation.

At the same time, political forces are beginning the process of impeachment of the prime minister. According to RIA Novosti, representatives of protesters in Yerevan asked people not to leave Republic Square and paralyzed the entire city with protests on Wednesday.

At 23:30 Moscow time, 34 people were injured, including 16 police officers. Violent clashes broke out after protesters began setting up tents. The police, as observed by eyewitnesses, treat the protesters extremely harshly, without touching those who have gathered and chanted provocative slogans near the Russian embassy. The Investigative Committee of Armenia stated that three participants in the clashes near the government building in Yerevan were detained and knifed weapons were found on them.
