“Country of Heroes” is a network of historical military camps organized by the Russian Military Historical Society as part of the national project “Culture” initiated by the President of the Russian Federation. Every year, the regions where these thematic changes take place change. The opportunity to retake the camp is given in exceptional cases. The Samara region has been winning for the second year in a row. The composition of the participants is formed on the basis of a competition that takes into account the achievements of the guys. The ticket is provided free of charge. This year, 500 children and young people had the opportunity to relax and go through thematic educational programs in the “Land of Heroes” in the Samara region.
In recent years, with the support of the head of the region, the infrastructure of the youth center has been significantly updated. The buildings, entrance group, sanitary rooms, first aid post were fundamentally repaired. The administrative building has been completely renovated, it is now equipped with a modern assembly hall, classrooms for group classes, and a catering unit in the dining room has also been renovated. There are plans to install heating systems in the buildings so that the center can receive children throughout the year.
Dmitry Azarov examined the administrative and residential buildings of the camp, the dining room, evaluated the result of the inspection and garden work.
– The camp has changed, a lot has been done here in the last two years. It is very important that these changes and improvements take place now, and we have more plans to improve the infrastructure of the camp so that all the boys who come here feel comfortable. Today there is already an all-season building, the problems of further reconstruction of the buildings are being solved, he noted.
The head of the region also visited the educational sites in the training areas of the participants: “Defenders”, “Guardians of History”, “Victoria Media”, “Victoria Volunteers”. The boys told him what they were learning and demonstrated the skills they had already acquired.
The “Forest Fairy Tale” has a very dense program. Under the guidance of instructors, including combat veterans, young men and women learn self-defense skills, learn to throw knives, disassemble and assemble a Kalashnikov assault rifle, perform field search work, become familiar with the technique of passing the TRP standards, the basics of skydiving and mountain tourism. The most important block of the program is the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War, the feat of the people. In addition, there are classes within the program for general development, sports and creative events.
Instructors in thematic areas are representatives of the Russian Military Historical Society in the Samara Region, search engines, Victory volunteers, leaders of military-patriot associations and detachments of the Youth Army.
The leadership support of the camp is provided by fighters of the pedagogical detachments of the Samara regional branch of the all-Russian public youth organization “Detachments of Russian students”.
In the second shift of the camp, guys from 11 regions of Russia. Ivan Ustinov – member of the track “Victory Media”. He is from the Smolensk region, for the second year in a row he chooses the Samara region. According to him, the change-2022 left vivid impressions. “The camp is positive, the program is rich and informative, it teaches patriotism, love of country,” he shared.
