– According to the construction criteria, the bridge is almost ready: in 2022, almost all the main works on the facility have been carried out. In July, the builders completed the construction of the main supports, in August they completed the sliding of the superstructures and connected the two banks. Almost eight kilometers of roads have already been built, access roads to the bridge, an overpass at the junction with the federal highway is ready and progress is being made in the construction of a junction. The highway part is 90 percent completed, the construction readiness of the entire facility is 80 percent. The bridge crossing is located in Blagoveshchensk, three kilometers downstream from the existing bridge over the Zeya. It begins at the intersection of Gorky and Pervomaiskaya streets and ends at the junction with the Amur federal highway. thus, it connects Blagoveshchensk with the main road network of the region and the Far East.
The construction of a new bridge was required due to the increase in traffic intensity and the need for a major overhaul of the existing crossing, which was built in 1981. Initially, it was assumed that the work would begin in 2021, but on behalf of the president of the Russian Federation, funds for construction have already been allocated in 2020.
More than two thousand specialists are working on the construction of the bridge over the Zeya, more than 160 units of construction equipment have intervened in different periods.
The total length of the project is 10.2 kilometers, of which the bridge part is 1933 meters, the access roads are 8352 meters. The base of the transition is 26 pillars. The new bridge will have one traffic lane in each direction. According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of the project will alleviate the existing crossing by 40-60 percent. Performance – up to 14 thousand cars per day.
