All these recordings were made between 2012 and 2022, as the album title indicates.
The same Viktor Tsoi voice still plays, and all the new instrumental versions made by Kasparyan, Titov and Tikhomirov, returning Kino, plus a guest guitarist and drummer, play close to the original ’80s versions. the lead guitar sometimes sounds higher, roomier and improvised, a string group is added to the track “When your girl is sick”, and the drums are always “alive” – with all their brass and additional percussion – while on the 80s, “Kino” sometimes preferred electronic drums.
There are also oddities on the album: the songs “Ataman” and “Pines on the Seashore” that were not included on either of Kino’s albums.
