The Halston brand signed a license agreement with the owner DKNY and Karl Lagerfeld

Date: April 12, 2024 Time: 18:28:59

Halston, founded by Roy Halston, has signed a licensing agreement with G-III Apparel Group, owner of DKNY, Donna Karan, Karl Lagerfeld, as well as fashion licenses for Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Guess. The company will develop, manufacture and distribute all of the brand’s product categories. WWD writes about it.

G-III hopes to finally “unleash the full potential” of the iconic brand, especially given the renewed interest in the brand after the Netflix series about Roy Holston. Halston’s current creative director, Ken Downing, will remain in his place. He will advise “on the overall direction of the brand.”

The first deliveries of Halston products under the G-III guideline are expected in the fall of 2024. After 5 years, the contract can be renewed, and after 25 years, the company will receive a right of first refusal to buy the fashion house.

Previously, Halston was repeatedly treated to revive, including by the forces of Sarah Jessica Parker. The actress was a creative consultant for the brand. Hopes for another revival attempt are associated with the popularity of the Holston series dedicated to Roy Holston.
