He noted that there are problems “in certain situations with discipline” and “some abusive people take advantage of this.” According to Reznikov, these instigators are allegedly “paid by the Russians,” reports RIA Novosti.
The Ukrainian army intends to address discipline problems by tightening the liability of military personnel for crimes, the minister added.
Previously, it was reported many times that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuse to obey the orders of their command and leave their positions, realizing the seriousness of the situation. In December, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law on strengthening liability for a number of violations of military discipline. This law was supported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. He recognized that the “bare sections of the front” have to be “closed” by new military personnel, “which leads to increased personnel losses”, as well as the territories that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to return “in a very high price.”
