The help of 100 euros per child that you can collect without being entitled to the IMV

Date: April 18, 2024 Time: 23:45:36

The Minimum Vital Income Law, published in the BOE on December 21 after its approval by the Council of Ministers, contemplates new aid that is aimed at potential beneficiaries who are in a situation of economic vulnerability. One of the main novelties of this non-contributory benefit is that families can receive a subsidy of up to 100 euros per month for each child. But, contrary to what many people may believe, it is not a requirement that the beneficiaries are collecting the IMV.

The new supplement to help children is intended to be a universal tool that all mothers will receive. Until now, it was only received if the mother was a worker. Coexistence units that already have the IMV and will have minor children will enjoy extra help, without having to request it previously. To them are added, in addition, the families that do not meet the requirements set forth to collect the IMV. However, in the case of the Minimum Vital Income, it is the age of each dependent minor child that determines the amount that can be received: if it is under three years of age, it will be 100 euros, if it is between 3 and 6 years old, 70 euros, and 50 euros if you are between 6 and 18 years old.

Who can request the subsidy of 100 euros per child in 2023

Last week the Council of Ministers passed the Family Law, designed by the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda, headed by Ione Belarra, which includes as one of its star measures the universal baby check of 100 euros per month that will come into force aa from 2023.

Although previously only working mothers received this subsidy, now it will also be extended to families that received contributory benefits or unemployment benefits. They are joined by women with children under three years of age, parents who are of the same sex, and the father or guardian in the event of the death of the mother. In addition, mothers who work part-time or temporary will receive the full refundable personal income tax deduction and not in proportion.

From 2025 you can apply the deduction of the free differential fee 901 200 347, or in person at any Delegation or Administration of the Tax Agency with the completed model 140.

Who is entitled to receive child support linked to the IMV

Without it being necessary to present any application or submit documentation to Social Security, current beneficiaries of the IMV, applicants for this income who have the file in process and those who already have the provision of family protection that meet a series of requirements; they will receive the economic appearance for dependent child or minor without disability or capacity less than 33%, or their cohabitation unit is made up only of the members that appear in the file of the benefit for dependent child. This last group must have the appropriate conditions to access this supplement and, in addition, the amount must be equal to or higher than the one they already enjoyed, having to opt for one of the two benefits.

In these three cases and in the files that have all the requirements, it will be recognized ex officio by the INSS, with economic effects from February 1, 2022. Otherwise, that is, if the conditions for ex officio recognition are not met , the processing of child support must be requested in the same way as the IMV, through the online form or the IMV application model.

In turn, to find out if you have the right to this supplement -or to the IMV-, if you do not receive the IMV -and there is no right to it-, it is possible to use the simulator enabled by the National Institute of Social Security. You just have to answer a few simple questions.
