We continue to acquaint you with the heroes of the special operation “Z” – participants in the hostilities in the Donbass. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals, and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character, and completed combat missions. His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Whoever surprised, won,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. He also taught: “The fortress is strong, the garrison is a whole army. But nothing can stand against Russian weapons – we are strong and self-confident.”

“The detachment of Guard Sergeant Sergei Skulov carried out a combat mission to liberate one of the settlements under the control of Ukrainian nationalists. Moving along a given route, Sergei’s unit came under fire from militants. The enemy fired from previously agreed positions. During the battle, the gunner-operator of the Skulov combat vehicle was injured. Having assessed the situation, the commander of the combat vehicle, Sergeant Skulov, decided to take the place of a subordinate and opened fire on the enemy. Thanks to the timely and competent actions of Sergei Skulov and his crew, the aimed fire managed to tie up the enemy’s actions, suppress the enemy machine-gun crew and destroy up to 15 enemy personnel. Having suffered heavy losses and having lost fire support, the enemy withdrew.

“The assault group under the command of junior sergeant Roman Shipulin carried out a combat mission to drive the Ukrainian armed formations out of the forest in the important direction of the offensive of the Russian troops. In the course of the task, the group discovered a stronghold of Ukrainian nationalists with defense in depth, barriers against explosive mines and equipped with camouflaged firing points. After conducting reconnaissance of the area using UAVs, the attack aircraft managed to quietly approach the positions of the defending militants. Having cleared the minefields, and then using the terrain, taking cover from enemy fire, the group took up a convenient and observable firing position in readiness to attack. In addition, after conducting additional reconnaissance, the deputy platoon commander Shipulin transferred the coordinates of the identified enemy weapons to the command post of the Russian artillery unit. As a result of the Russian artillery attack, a militant observation post was destroyed, as well as two camouflaged firing points. During the fast-paced battle, acting as part of a raiding party, Shipulin personally destroyed a foreign-made infantry fighting vehicle and two Ukrainian militants. The suddenness of the assault group’s actions disorganized the defense and caused panic in the enemy ranks. As a result of directed fire from small arms, the fine adjustment of artillery fire, the enemy was forced out of their fixed positions and put to flight. The timely and competent actions of the group under the command of Junior Sergeant Roman Shipulin ensured the success of the offensive operations. As a result of the fulfillment of the assigned combat mission, the stronghold of the nationalists came completely under the control of the Russian forces, and conditions were also created for the breakthrough of the second echelon of our units.
