The hero of the movie “The Blind Side” sued his adoptive parents

Date: September 24, 2023 Time: 20:05:05

Former soccer player Michael Oher, who became famous thanks to the film “The Blind Side” with Sandra Bullock, sued his adoptive parents. He accused them of enriching themselves at his expense. It is reported by ESPN.

The athlete stated that Sean and Lee Ann Tui never adopted him. Instead, they allegedly forced him to sign a custody agreement that allowed them to do business in his name. As a result, they made a lot of money launching a book about the history of Oher and his adoptive family. And then, and in the film based on his motives. According to Michael, he did not receive any money from the image, while the Tui couple and their two children received millions of dollars.

Now the man, now 37, is demanding that the agreement be terminated and an injunction issued against Tui’s family using his name and likeness. He also wants a share of the proceeds from the publication of the book and film The Blind Side, and is seeking compensation. Sean Tuhy said the family was “devastated” by Michael’s lawsuit.

“It is sad to think that we would earn money with any of our children. But we will love Michael at 37 as much as we love him at 16,” she said.

Earlier, the date of the official digital release of “Barbie” was known. Greta Gerwig’s tape can be seen in streaming from September 5. We talk about it in more detail here.
