Soldiers, sergeants, corporals, and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character, and completed combat missions. His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise and awards. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Incessant exercise, how to take in everything with one glance, can be a great commander,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. And he instructed the soldiers like this: “Do not take large convoys behind you, the main thing is speed and onslaught, your bread is in the convoy, and the backpacks of the enemies.”

“A group of Russian servicemen under the command of Captain Gleb Somov carried out the tasks of maintaining defensive lines in one of the tactical directions. The enemy, seeking to regain control of the lost territories, subjected the positions of Captain Somov’s group to artillery fire. During the battle, skillfully leading the unit, Gleb repelled the attacks of the nationalists. After reinforcements reached the enemy and the threat of a breakthrough arose, Gleb decided to withdraw the group to the area where the main forces of the battalion tactical group were concentrated, luring the enemy into a “pocket”. Leaving, Gleb, under fire from enemy artillery, organized the evacuation of wounded comrades. Having lured the enemy into a trap, the Russian military surrounded the nationalists and launched a counteroffensive, which made it possible to push the enemy back to their original positions. For the courage and heroism shown during the performance of combat missions, Captain Gleb Somov was awarded the Order of Valor.

“The motorized rifle company of Lieutenant Said Magomedov was tasked with defending one of the liberated settlements from the armed formations of Ukrainian nationalists. The enemy, seeking to regain control of the lost positions, tried to break through the defensive lines of the Russian troops in the area of responsibility of the company of Lieutenant Magomedov. Being in charge of the defense, Said led the unit entrusted to him. With aimed fire at the advancing militants, motorized rifles hampered the actions of the enemy and inflicted heavy damage on him. During the battle Said was severely wounded, however despite this he continued to lead the defense of the settlement, forcing the Nationalists to retreat to their original positions after the battle. The courageous and selfless actions of Lieutenant Magomedov, as well as the professionalism and consistency of the actions of his subordinates, allowed the Russian motorized riflemen to thwart the enemy’s offensive and hold the settlement.
