As Lyudmila Parshina, head of the laboratory of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta, temperatures of -8-13 degrees at night and -3-8 degrees below zero during the day will prevail in Moscow. With cold snaps, night frosts of 20 degrees are possible. And during the day the temperature can drop below 15 degrees. Approximately the same weather is expected in the northern capital.
A higher than usual temperature is forecast in the north, in the Arkhangelsk, Murmansk and Vologda regions. Temperatures will range from minus 15 to minus 20 degrees at night. During the day – minus 13-17 degrees. This is above the norm for January.
In the Krasnodar Territory during the day it can be up to 11 degrees more, and at night a little less. On some days and during the day there can be temperatures below freezing.
Colder than usual is expected at the beginning of the new year in the southern Urals and southern Siberia. At night – up to minus 20 degrees, during the day – minus 10-15 degrees. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk region it is colder – at night up to minus 27, during the day – minus 17-20 degrees. Approximately the same climate in Primorye and in the south of the Khabarovsk Territory. In these regions, January will be colder than usual.
Heavy precipitation is forecast in the Voronezh, Belgorod and Tambov regions. It will be icy but dry in the Urals and Altai. Snow in January is rare here.
In the next week, only Monday will be cold in the center. And already from Tuesday the thaw will begin. By the end of the week in the capital region up to plus 4 degrees is possible during the day. At night, the temperature will also be positive. Heavy rainfall is not forecast.
