The Ibex 35 rises 0.1%, up to 8,951 points, in a day in which investors will be attentive to the publication of the PMI activity indices in the industrial and services sectors in various countries, as well as the corresponding business results to the fourth quarter of 2022. In this way, after closing yesterday with an increase of 0.29%, the Madrid selective started the session with an eye on the psychological level of 9,000 points.
The biggest increases were recorded by Inditex (+0.55%), Grifols (+0.51%), BBVA (+0.47%), Sacyr (+0.41%), Meliá Hotels (+0.41% ) and IAG (+0.33%), while on the contrary were Bankinter (-0.7%), Sabadell (-0.31%), Acerinox (-0.23%) and Cellnex Telecom (-0 ,22%).
Investors were optimistic about the last week of January, ahead of the central bank meetings, after strong gains on Wall Street on Monday, with a visible recovery in big technology stocks. The rest of the European stock markets opened with increases of 0.1% for Frankfurt and 0.2% for Paris, while London fell 0.2%.
Likewise, the price of a barrel of Brent oil, a reference for the Old Continent, stood at a price of 88 dollars, with a decrease of 0.22%, while Texas stood at 81 dollars. Finally, the price of the euro against the dollar stood at 1.0889 ‘greenbacks’, while the Spanish risk premium stood at 98 basis points, with the interest required on the ten-year bond at 3.180%.
