Part of the equipment has already arrived in Severobaikalsk by rail, and restoration work will begin soon. The second column advances under its own power along the highway, the movement is hampered by the partial flooding of the road. Together with the team, 47 company employees traveled to Severobaikalsk.
– As soon as we received a request from the leadership of the Republic of Buryatia, they immediately responded, prepared and sent equipment. Already in the place it will be clear where exactly it will intervene: in the restoration of a dam or a railway line. We hope that the consequences of the emergency will be eliminated as soon as possible – said the general director of INK, Yakov Ginzburg.
The regional emergency regime has been in force in Buryatia since August 20. A day earlier, due to abnormal rains and a ruptured protection dam in the North Baikal region, the Kholodnaya River overflowed its banks, washing away the bridge and the adjacent railway embankment on the Nizhneangarsk – Kholodnaya section. As a result, a 1,000 meter long tarpaulin was damaged. The movement of trains in the place is stopped.
