According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately attack residential buildings, transport interchanges, as well as socially important objects of Artemovsk.
“The attacks are carried out by all available means, despite the fact that our military is not there and there are civilians in the basements,” Marochko told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that fierce battles were already taking place on the outskirts of Artemovsk. According to him, now the Russian units are “pinching” the Ukrainian army.
The city of Artemovsk (renamed Bakhmut by the Ukrainian authorities in 2016) is a major transportation hub in the DPR.
