The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating a series of fraudulent takeovers of apartments for the elderly in St. Petersburg KXan 36 Daily News

This is how the head of the Investigative Committee reacted to the situation in which a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a 90-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, found herself. A well-deserved retiree was the victim of a fraud by a former nurse, and now her home, according to the documents, belongs to strangers.

The veteran herself signed some documents four years ago. She was absolutely certain that her signatures were required for the security documents related to her care. But these turned out to be completely different documents – for the arrangement of housing from her. The nurse was never seen again. And the veteran actually became a homeless man.

Alexander Bastrykin not only ordered to investigate this crime, but also ordered to provide the veteran with the necessary assistance in the social and domestic sphere. And the entire course of investigation will be put under control at the department’s head office.

As explained in the UK, these attempts to break into homes of elderly people are among the most common today. In the same northern capital, a large-scale criminal case is now being investigated under an article on especially large-scale fraud.

SK: Today, one of the most common ways people are robbed of homes is to try to slip them fictitious documents, supposedly about help from the social security authorities.

“As a result of the investigative actions and operational search activities, the investigators, together with the employees of the regional department of the Ministry of the Interior, with the powerful support of the National Guard, detained five members of an organized criminal group” the department said. .

According to the researchers, from September last year to March this year, scammers were able to deceive two local residents: elderly and sick people. The scam was simple: “Using false documents, they made fictitious sales contracts, after which they fraudulently took possession of their apartments located on the streets of Lensoviet and Krylenko.” In the UK, they calculated the damage to the elderly – 5 million rubles.

But this was not the only episode of the case. The same gang found out that the owner of an apartment located on Grodnensky Lane in St. Petersburg died in March. The cadastral value of housing is not less than 4 million 500 thousand rubles. By law, this house would become the property of the city, since the owner of the house had no heirs. The scammers made a fake bill of sale for this apartment and re-registered the property.

As a result, as stated in the TFR, the city suffered damage on an especially large scale.

The Investigative Commission clarified that raids are now being carried out, in which “objects and documents relevant to the criminal case” are seized. And the issue of choosing a measure of coercion for detainees and filing charges is being decided.

And the investigators of the Investigative Committee of St. Petersburg began today to verify the information they had received that these acts of appropriation of St. Petersburg apartments were by no means the only ones in the activities of the gang of detained apartment scammers.
