The case was initiated for a crime provided for in art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attack on the life of a law enforcement officer) and Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of weapons).
According to the investigation, yesterday, September 15, at 9:00 p.m., a traffic police team 2 km from the Tarakanovskoye highway in the Solnechnogorsk region identified the driver of a Mercedes Benz car driving on the road without a state license plate. . Traffic police officers tried to stop the car, but the driver did not respond to their proposal and continued driving. Then the crew began the chase.
The driver drove to the village of Vertlino, stopped the car, then, getting out of it, took out a pistol and shot at the police officer. Police officer Alexey M., 41, died from a gunshot wound before paramedics arrived. His colleague, who managed to arrest the criminal, Dmitri Yu, 33, returned fire, wounding the attacker and detaining him.
The aggressive driver turned out to be 52-year-old Moscow resident Alexander Yushin. Until now, no external signs of alcohol poisoning had been detected in the man. He now he is in the hospital.
Investigators and criminologists are establishing the circumstances and causes of the incident. The crime scene has been inspected, the murder weapon has been seized, interrogations are underway and a forensic examination is planned.
