The series “The Librarian”, based on the cult novel of the same name by Mikhail Elizarov, took third place in the rating of the most watched series and films according to “Kinopoisk” in July 2023.
The exciting mystical plot of the series unfolds against the background of a familiar cozy post-Soviet aesthetic. Loser actor Alexei Vyazintsev (Nikita Efremov) learns that his father was murdered under mysterious circumstances. Alexei travels to Shironino, his father’s hometown, to sell his apartment and becomes involved in a series of dangerous events. Locals believe that the books of the forgotten Soviet writer Gromov have magical properties. The secret world of Gromov’s readers is divided into libraries that are looking for books all over the country and are ready to kill competitors for their strength.
The television premiere of the series will take place on the Day of Russian Cinema, on August 27, on the REN TV channel. Please note that attempts to film Mikhail Elizarov’s novel have been going on for about 10 years. The implementation of the project became possible thanks to the initiative of the General Director of REN TV Vladimir Tyulin, the series was produced by the White Media company, and Igor Tverdokhlebov acted as director.
