It should be noted that in the near future the department will evaluate the information collected about the dancer and then send a proposal to deprive her of citizenship to the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the agency, if Liepa’s statements are found to threaten Lithuania’s national security, then the petition to deprive the dancer of her citizenship will be transferred to the president of the republic.
It was previously reported that Vilnius intends to deprive Ilze Liepa of her citizenship due to her public support for Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
“I am Russian, an Orthodox Russian, and I will be with my country, no matter what it experiences,” the dancer said in particular.
Liepa received Lithuanian citizenship in 2000.
