When we talk about salaries in Spain we can find some job positions that we consider to be not well paid, although, if we compare it with the situation in other parts of the world and in certain sectors, we would see that they are not so well paid. This is what happens in the world’s lowest-paid jobs, which often occur in less developed countries.
In this way, when talking about the lowest paid jobs on the planet, we find that some of the most affected are the workers in the textile industry. Personnel in this sector in some countries such as Bangladesh earn only about 30 euros per month, a workforce that in many Asian territories is exploitative.
The work of rickshaw drivers, who are in charge of transporting passengers in cars in cities like Calcutta, is also poorly paid, and where they barely earn 3 euros a day. A situation similar to that experienced in Indonesia, where a company that exploits the Kawah Ijen volcano barely pays 5 euro cents for each kilo carried by its workers, a harsh labor force that puts their health at risk and barely generates any income. income.
On the other hand, other professionals who are very poorly paid are farmers, where remuneration is increasingly lower, or fruit pickers, which in addition to being hard in some countries such as South Africa, barely earn 5 euros per year. day at best.
Related to the food sector, we find a workforce such as fisherman, which is no longer well-paid in Spain, but is much less so in countries like Senegal, where five times less money is earned than in our country. .
Other low paying jobs
In addition to those already mentioned, other professionals who are generally poorly paid are those in charge of ship dismantling, a very physical job that is common in countries like Bangladesh and that is not paid as it deserves; as well as that of miner, one of the most dangerous that exists and very poorly paid in some countries, where it is a source of labor exploitation.
To these we must add that of a construction worker, which in some territories of the world is carried out under exploitative conditions. In fact, during the construction of the soccer stadiums for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the immigrants working on their construction sites earned less than 57 euro cents per hour.
We must also talk about cleaning bathrooms, since in India there are women who for a good number of years have received 20 euro cents a month for carrying out this task seven days a week.
Finally, if we leave aside this type of work, which in many cases corresponds to exploitative conditions, we can talk about some jobs that are very common and that are not well paid. This is the case of telephone service or call center, cooks and staff in fast food restaurants or shoemakers.
