The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that a “massive attack with long-range, high-precision air and sea weapons” was inflicted on Friday, December 16, against military command and control systems, the military-industrial complex, and energy facilities that support them in Ukraine.
“The goal has been reached. All assigned objects are hit. As a result of the strike, the transfer of weapons and ammunition of foreign production was interrupted, the advance of reserves to the areas of hostilities was blocked, and the enterprises of defense of Ukraine for the production and repair of weapons, military equipment and ammunition,” Defense Ministry spokesman Ihor Konashenkov said at a recent briefing.
He also noted that “in the course of repelling the attack of the Ukrainian and Western air defense systems, a significant resource was spent on specially launched decoys. And these false targets allowed our troops to more closely open and destroy enemy air defense positions. In such a counter-battery fight, our missiles knocked out four more radar stations of Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in the areas of Andrusovka, Prydniprovske, Dnipropetrovsk region settlements, as well as Novotavricheskaya and Nikolay-Pole, Zaporozhye region. .
In general, our missile launchers were able to kill “two birds with one stone” at once. But ordinary people again suffered from the bustle of Ukrainian nationalists.
“As a result of the unprofessional actions of the Ukrainian air defense crews, damage was caused to civilian infrastructure on the ground,” the lieutenant general emphasized.
On the line of contact, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to suffer heavy losses.
Konashenkov listed data testifying to the destruction of significant enemy forces in the main areas of hostilities: up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen were killed in the Kupyansk direction, up to 30 in the Krasno-Limansky direction, 30 in the Donetsk direction and 35 in the south of Donetsk.
In addition, two reconnaissance and sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were discovered and eliminated in areas of two settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Dozens of tanks, armored personnel carriers and vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also burned in the battles.
A day later, units of air defense, aviation, missile forces and artillery hit: on Krasny Liman, a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenaries, a temporary deployment point for the 14 mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kupyansk , Kharkiv region, two drones, 7 shells of the Uragan and HIMARS systems ”, as well as 53 artillery units in firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 89 districts.
