As the head of the special train said, the crew conducts technical reconnaissance, clears mines, and restores destroyed areas if necessary.
“During the movement, if minor damage is detected on the track, the special train personnel are able to eliminate the damage identified and continue advancing on their own,” he explained.
Train duties also include cargo escort.
In the released images, you can see the various types of weapons the train is equipped with, including an anti-aircraft gun. As explained in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the weapon system allows personnel to operate in the most difficult conditions. The situation in the train zone is controlled by the calculation of an unmanned aerial vehicle. Specialists monitor suspicious objects and conduct reconnaissance of enemy firearms.
